LinkedIn is acquiring an employee engagement firm to enhance its capabilities in talent management.
LinkedIn is an online networking platform wherein professionals connect with each other to find and provide jobs. On the other hand, the employee engagement firm Glint provides a software that can check employee satisfaction through real-time surveys. Through Glint, businesses or clients who rely on LinkedIn for recruitment will be able to know whether or not the employees they hired are satisfied.
The acquisition will help LinkedIn discern satisfaction of its clients’ employees. Glint’s software measures employee satisfaction toward compensation, culture in the workplace, and even the management. The software also provides actionable recommendations to address the employees’ dissatisfaction points. This will allow LinkedIn clients to retain the employees chosen during recruitment. With retention, businesses do not need to spend more on training new employees.
Although the companies have not disclosed a lot of information about the acquisition, both LinkedIn and Glint are happy with the new partnership. A LinkedIn executive expressed enthusiasm, saying that the combined efforts of LinkedIn and Glint will help customers grow and build successful teams.
Meanwhile, Glint’s CEO stated that there were numerous reasons why the company partnered with LinkedIn. One of those reasons is the alignment of both the companies’ commitment to people and engagement in the workplace. The CEO also called the deal a major step into the fruition of Glint’s vision of a world where people are happy with their jobs and successful in their work.
The acquisition will officially close in 2019, with LinkedIn planning to integrate Glint’s software within 18 months.
