STEP B GRAMMAR TIP

Use present progressive be + (-ing verb) to talk about both current actions and future plans.

You can use be + (-ing verb) to say that something is happening now.

  • I’m having dinner right now.
  • They’re looking for their dog. He just ran out the door.

You can also use be + (-ing verb) to talk about something that will definitely happen in the future.

  • Flynn is celebrating his wife’s birthday tomorrow.
  • My friends are going to Guam next week.

Cosplay and otaku are Japanese words that are starting to be used by native English speakers. Many young native speakers understand them, but not everyone does. Other terms you can use in English are dress up in costumes and geek.
