SPEAKING

During their lunch break at work, Daiki and Eric are making arrangements for the hanami.

Eric:

Thanks for agreeing to have a hanami with me and Miho. I promise it’ll be fun!

Daiki:

No problem. Just be sure not to be late Saturday morning. We should be at the park by eleven, so let’s meet up at Ueno Station at ten forty-five.

Eric:

All right. Do you need me to bring anything?

Daiki:

Yeah. Please bring sake and some paper cups and plates. Yuki and I will bring the blue sheet and the food.

Eric:

Sounds good! Can you hang out with us until four?

Daiki:

Hmm, I think Yuki has to go to a fan club meeting at three thirty, but I’ll ask her tonight. I’ll send you an email by nine.

TRIVIA

Some foreigners might be surprised that it’s legal to drink alcohol in public in Japan. In many parts of the United States, for example, the police will arrest you if they catch you drinking in parks, on the street, or in other public places.

Okay. Can we all go together?

Student:

Sure. Let’s meet up at the station (at / until) seven.
