The Food Fanatic
by Leo Lancaster
I visited three new restaurants in Bangkok with my food buddy last weekend. Here’s our review!
Curry House is a new restaurant on Oriental Avenue. Their must-tries are red curry and shrimp (฿600) and green curry (฿450).
Just across the street from Curry House is Foodie’s Haven, which serves fusion food. We recommend fish and chips with curry sauce (฿675). Foodie’s Haven looks a little classier than Curry House. The food is also slightly pricier here.
Spice Pad is a newly-opened restaurant along Rama Road. It is by far the priciest restaurant we visited. They serve amazing lobster rolls (฿3,500) and stir-fried noodles (฿800).
Spice Pad is easily the fanciest of the three. But for the taste and price, we think that Foodie’s Haven is far better than Spice Pad. If you only have time to try one restaurant, Foodie’s Haven is the one to visit.
TRIVIA
Many Thai people believe that it’s bad luck to eat alone. Most meals are shared because for Thais, eating is a celebration. Many Thai people also believe that it’s bad luck to throw away food.
タイ人の多くは1人で食べることは悪運だと信じています。タイ人にとって食べることはお祝いなので、ほとんどの食事はみんなで分けて食べます。また、多くのタイ人は食べ物を捨てることは縁起の悪いことだと考えています。

Crazy for Foodie
by Nicole Khallie
Three new restaurants opened this month, and of course, we went to try them!
The first restaurant we went to, Food Hub, is a good place to just hang out. It is easily the most affordable of the three restaurants. Try their steak and fries or lamb chop for your main course. They serve great desserts too!
Next we visited Rare Basil. It is slightly classier than Food Hub and is great for a girls’ night out. They serve amazing pasta. All pasta dishes come with a side of fish fillet, steak, or chicken.
The third restaurant, Palate Palace, is easily the classiest restaurant we visited. The food here is a little cheaper than at Rare Basil. They serve unique dishes like chicken with white chocolate sauce and chocolate cake with chili.
